June 19-21 Darwin Latin Dance Festival will be privileged to bring to you, Australia's only 5x World champions and "Dancing With The Stars" champions from Latin Motion Sydney, OLIVER y LUDA. 4 x Australian National Salsa Teams division Champions, Asian Salsa Open Champion 2007 from Modus Vivendi Sydney NESTOR y LIDIA. Brazilians Zouk-Lambada sensation from Rio Rhythmics dance Academy KADU y LARISSA and SIngapore's respected instructor and performers JASON y JERINNE.

Oliver Pineda, Director of Australia’s most successful Latin Dance Academy ‘Latin Motion Dance Academy’ with celebrity dance partner Luda Kroitor from Dancing with the Stars have been dancing together for 15 years and are the current World Salsa Champions. They are the winners of the 2001 IDO World Salsa Championships, 2005 Puerto Rican Open, and the 1st 2nd and 3rd Annual World Salsa Championships held in Las Vegas 2005, 2006 and in Disney World Orlando 2007. Known for their breathtakingly perfect style, genius musical interpretation and clear precise teaching methods, this couple is one of the worlds most admired and sought after dancers and instructors; Currently taking the Salsa world by storm, this dynamic duo’s experiences range from Multiple Australian Dance Sport Champions, Australian Salsa Champions to 5 time World Salsa Champions. Oliver & Luda have been featured as special guests on the Channel 7 TV hit show Dancing With The Stars and have also been confirmed as choreographers on the Channel 10 TV hit show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. Oliver, the creator of his own ‘Aussie Style Salsa’ has been spreading this new phenomenon to Congresses all over the world. Having created a following of Aussie Style dancers from around the globe, Oliver & Luda have gained the respect of dancers and promoters alike and will continue to place ‘Aussie Style Salsa’ firmly on the map for many years to come. |

Two of Australia’s best dancers have come together to create a new flavour not yet seen, collectively they have represented Australia on the world stage for the past 4 years. They’ve taught workshops and performed at major salsa congresses and events in Australia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Uk, Milan, Rome, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Auckland and Hong Kong. Known for their thrilling and energetic performances, they draw audiences in and leave them eager for more. They have competed nationally and internationally winning 6 National Titles in the past 4 years as well as winning the Asian Salsa Open in 2007. Their team Modus Vivendi are current and 4 times Australian Salsa Champions, and will be representing Australia at the ‘ESPN World Salsa Championships’ for the 4th year in row where they have been finalist for the last three years. Nestor and Lidia are also pioneers of Bachata not only in Australia but teaching all over Asia and LA (USA) as well! This astonishing Brazilian couple is renowned for their incredible and crisp moves in their Zouk-Lambada routines. They met in Brazil and teamed-up short after in 2006, performing and conducted workshops in major events throughout Brazil. Wining dance competitions in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, winning a gold medal in the Conselho Brasileiro de Danca Competition band and placed third in the regional salsa step competition. In 2007 they moved to Brisbane Australia to be part of the Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy teacher’s team. Since then they have been performing and conducted workshops in Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. We performed and taught at the Sydney Salsa Congress 2008, Hong Kong Salsa Festival 2008, The Australian Salsa Classic 2008 and at BrasaZouk Academy (Holland) |

Jerinne has been dancing for almost her whole life. Ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, swing, salsa, she has danced them all. She has performed in numerous events including the Uniquely Singapore launch and the International Indian Film Academy 2004 awards show held in Singapore. She has also performed and taught at many congresses overseas such as:

She is also an accomplished choreographer, having choreographed many dance performances both in Salsa and other dance genres. She was the co-choreographer for the winning choreography in the Her World Salsa Competition 2003.
Jason has been teaching Salsa since 2002. The years of experience shows as his classes are fun, yet detailed, with the focus firmly on ensuring his students not only enjoy the class but also come away with being able to dance. Together with Jerinne, he has also taught in many of festivals and congresses overseas, as listed above.
Aside from this, Jason DJs at local and international Salsa events, most recently being the Sydney Salsa Congress 2009.

Darwin Latin Dance Festival 2009 comprises two nights of parties and performances and two full days of workshops; Friday night, Pre-Heat party; Saturday, Day workshop and Fiesta Caliente main event staging exhilarating performances by interstate and local dancers followed by party.

The Workshops
The Darwin Latin Dance Festival 2009 includes over 20 different workshops taught by some world reknowned Latin Dance Instructors. You can learn Salsa ON-1, ON-2, Samba-de-Gafieira, Bachata, Lambada, Cha Cha, Cuban Salsa and more. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, you will find a workshop to suit your level of expertise.
The Parties
Each night of the Darwin Latin Dance Festival there will be a party night with DJs and hundreds of dancers, highlighting the "Fiesta Caliente" with over fourteen different shows of Latin dance styles including Salsa, Ball-room Latin, Zouk-Lambada, Hip-Hop, samba, Belly-Dance, and much more, the "NT amateur Salsa Championships" where amateur dancing couple from any where in Australia will bring to you their competitive and explosive routines in a chase for fantastic prizes. The parties represent a great opportunity to dance and make friends with people. Some of the best National dancers will be ready and willing to give you a spin on the dance floor, not to mention our local talent.
